At ESTONIA Resort Hotel & Spa, sustainability and environmental awareness are key values. We believe that even the smallest contributions can help preserve our environment for future generations. We are also committed to supporting our local community and operating responsibly.

Our steps towards a more sustainable future

LESS PLASTIC

• We have replaced single-use toiletries in all hotel rooms (except three suites) with refillable dispensers containing shower gel/shampoo, conditioner, and liquid soap – significantly reducing plastic packaging waste.
• To minimize unnecessary resource use and waste, we have removed disposable slippers from hotel rooms, helping us create a more sustainable hotel experience.
• We have eliminated single-use plastic dishes throughout the hotel:
  – In the spa bar, beverages are served in reusable glassware.
  – Drinking fountains are available in the spa area to avoid single-use cups.
  – In-room dining is packaged in environmentally friendly containers.

LESS PAPER

• We use e-invoices instead of printed ones.
• Printed in-room materials have been replaced with information accessible via QR codes and hotel TV screens.
• Guests can check in electronically, without filling in paper forms.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY CLEANING

• We use eco-friendly cleaning products and sort waste daily.
• Public areas are equipped with waste sorting stations to make recycling easy and convenient for guests.

ENERGY SAVINGS AND RENEWABLE ENERGY

• Solar panels on the hotel roof help reduce energy consumption and increase the share of renewable energy.
• Our spa and conference centre are equipped with heat exchangers that reuse residual heat from domestic water systems.
• We use LED lighting throughout the building
• An electric vehicle charger is provided in the hotel’s P2 parking lot.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY

• Used blankets, pillows, and towels are donated to animal shelters or repurposed elsewhere.

REDUCING FOOD WASTE

• We work to minimize food waste through smart menu planning and optimized portion sizes.

A HEALTHIER ENVIRONMENT

• Our hotel is a smoke-free property.

Supporting the Community and Responsible Business Practices

• We support the local community and promote a healthy, active lifestyle by contributing to sports and cultural events.
• We actively participate in industry associations and professional networks.
• We help foster the next generation of professionals by offering internships, jobs, and contributing to curriculum development. Our team also shares their knowledge and experience in educational institutions.
• We use locally made beds, pillows, duvets, and bed linens in hotel rooms – and selected pillows are available for purchase.
• We prioritize fresh and locally sourced ingredients in our restaurant.

• Please turn off the lights when leaving your room.
• Use water responsibly.
• Daily towel changes significantly increase the consumption of water and detergents. If you do not need your towels changed, simply hang them up.
• Room cleaning uses water, electricity, and cleaning products. If staying for multiple nights, consider skipping daily cleaning. To do so, hang the “DO NOT DISTURB” sign on your door.
• Take only as much food as you can actually eat – let’s reduce food waste together.
